This country has an increasing population of young people who face becoming homeless as part of growing up. This year the problem of youth homelessness will touch every community in the UK, including ours.
• Crisis has estimated that there are as many as 380,000 hidden homeless people in Britain today.
• Centre Points homelessness survey found 47 young homeless people in the Wyre Forest, in just 4 weeks.
• Family conflict is the main cause of youth homelessness.
• Young homeless people will often have feelings of frustration, boredom and low self esteem.
• Nightstop UK helped over 4,500 young people last year to find emergency accommodation.
• Wyre Forest Nightstops’ hosts are kind and caring people. They don’t get paid, but take young people into their homes out of the goodness of their hearts.
If you would like to become a host, have any queries, or would like to become a ‘Friend of Nightstop’ and receive quarterly updates on our progress and a certificate of support, please contact the Nightstop office.
